The overhanging outdoor skating rink, with its stunning mountain scenery, is the perfect backdrop for your visiting friends and relatives’ holiday snaps
Ras Al Khaimah has revealed an exciting new adventure addition, a skating rink at the Jebel Jais Viewing Deck Park, overlooking the UAE’s most spectacular mountain range.
It’s time to wrap up in your winter woolies because the overhanging skating rink is nestled 1,300 metres above sea level! You can truly experience the magic of winter and make sure you feel snuggly, because that high up in the mountains, it’s 10 degrees colder than anywhere else in the country.
The synthetic skating rink gives visitors an incredibly realistic ice skating experience and is perfect for skating the day away whilst listening to music and taking in the stunning views, ideal for snapping Instagram shots in the most beautiful backdrop.
The skating rink will be open every day (except Mondays and Tuesdays) from 10am to 5pm until March and only costs AED45 for 30 minutes skating including skates. If you need a bit of help staying steady, skate penguins are available for support. Tickets are available now at www.toroverdeuae.com and on site at the Jebel Jais Viewing Deck Park.
Perched high, close to the summit of Jebel Jais, the UAE’s highest mountain, the Viewing Deck Park has seven viewing decks. Visitors can take in stunning 360-degree vistas of the spectacular Hajar Mountains, formed over 70 million years ago and standing nearly 2,000 metres above sea level. It is the perfect place to watch people taking the Jebel Jais Flight, tackling the Jebel Jais Via Ferrata and skating. The sunset views are magnificent. Gourmet level refreshments are available at the food truck outlets – Puro Express and Muse Café. The park is open every day from 8am to 8pm. Entry costs are AED 20 for two hours per car (special parking) and AED5 per person (public parking).
