In the spirit of giving during the Holy Month of Ramadan, Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA) continued its commitment to giving back with a series of initiatives for several members of the Emirate’s community.
In collaboration with the Ministry of Health, 30 children from an orphanage were welcomed last week to the Al Fayrouz Ramadan Tent to enjoy Iftar in the contemporary setting on the beautiful shores of Ras Al Khaimah. Members of the RAKTDA team also went out into the community to spend the day with elderly residents of the Ibrahim Bin Hamad Obaidullah Hospital and committed their ongoing support to providing the home with medical supplies.
In partnership with JW Marriott, RAKTDA also acknowledged the work of the Emirate’s taxi drivers and their contribution to the tourism industry by distributing Iftar boxes from outside Al Fayrouz Ramadan Tent.
Haitham Mattar, CEO of Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority said: “Supporting our community is a fundamental part of our destination strategy and in the Holy Month of Ramadan it is especially important to give something back. Initiatives such as these are an ongoing part of our commitment to the people of Ras Al Khaimah and we are honoured to share happy moments with the children, older citizens and our workforce at this special time of year. We chose Zayed Humanitarian Day to mark these initiatives, in line with the UAE’s dedicated “Year of Zayed”, which encourages the UAE to embrace the key learnings of our nation’s Father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.”
