The Al Marjan Ramadan Tent by RAKTDA brings Holy Month spirit to life

Ras Al Khaimah, the northernmost emirate of the UAE, is reaping the benefits of its authentic seasonal offering with its celebrated Al Marjan Ramadan Tent by Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA) exceeding last year’s visitor numbers during the Holy Month.

More than 5,000 guests have packed Al Marjan Ramadan Tent by RAKTDA during the first two weeks of Ramadan, offering them an authentic Arabian experience with traditional Iftar fare and a la carte Suhoor options prepared by Executive Chef Ludovic Garnier and the culinary team from the five-star Al Wadi Desert, Ras Al Khaimah, a Ritz-Carlton partner hotel.

“Night after night the tent’s main dining area has been alive with guests from the UAE and abroad looking to soak up the real Ramadan ethos of gathering friends and family together,” said Haitham Mattar, CEO, RAKTDA, which manages and promotes the emirate’s tourism industry. “The private VIP and corporate areas have also been well-received by many who wish to experience a truly authentic Arabian experience with families and colleagues.

“Ras Al Khaimah is known for its rich heritage – and the distinctive celebration of Ramadan is an integral part of that – hence our decision to invest in this huge tented gathering place where the spirit of Ramadan comes to life. What has been particularly pleasing is the number of overseas visitors who have become walk-in clients of the tent as they look to discover the traditions of Ramadan. The tent promises to be our best-received Ramadan celebration yet with the pace expected to continue in the run-up to Eid,” added Mattar.”

Open throughout Ramadan from Iftar time until 1am on weekdays and until 2am on weekends, Iftar in the Al Marjan Ramadan Tent by RAKTDA – inclusive of all food and drinks – is AED 150 for adults and half price for children aged six to 12, while those under six years eat for free. Suhoor is offered on an a la carte basis with a minimum spend of AED 100 on weekdays and AED 130 on weekends for adults and children above 12 years old.
